|THE REAL PRESENCE||CHRIST IN THE EUCHARIST|
There is a great similarity between the Prayer of the Angel, given to the three Fatima children, and the Chaplet of Mercy, given by Jesus to Sister Faustina in Poland. In both cases, we offer up to Almighty God "the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ."
In these prayers from Heaven, a merciful God has given to His children a formula for perfect reparation.
In the Fall of 1916, the Angel of Portugal appeared to the three Fatima children. He was holding a chalice, with a Host above it. Leaving both suspended in mid-air, he prostrated himself on the ground in Eucharistic adoration; the children did likewise.
Then the Angel had them join in saying the following sublime prayer:
"Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly. I offer You the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for all the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended."
"And through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of poor sinners."
On September 13, 1935, Jesus gave to Sister Faustina the Chaplet of Mercy:
"Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Thy Most Beloved Son and Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and the sins of the whole world."
"Through the most sorrowful Passion of Jesus, have mercy on us and on the whole world."
The next day, while going into the Chapel, Sister Faustina heard Jesus say: "As many times as you enter the Chapel immediately recite the prayer 1 taught you yesterday!"
This would seem to indicate that while all prayers are heard by God, those said before the Holy Eucharist are more pleasing, more powerful and more effective.
Since the prayers were given to us by God, they are a true form of reparation that is most pleasing and acceptable to the Triune God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Such "perfect reparation" will appease the just wrath of God, Who is too grievously offended by the sins of the world - such as abortion murders, blasphemy, widespread immorality, paganism, secularism and materialism.
Such reparation will draw down God's merciful love, instead of the just punishments we truly deserve.
Such reparation will help save the world from destruction. And countless numbers of souls from eternal damnation in the fires of Hell.
We should say frequently - daily if possible - the Fatima Eucharistic prayers and the Chaplet of Mercy. However, these prayers will be far more powerful and effective if we will add deeds to our words. We can do this in several practical ways:
When was the last time there was a Holy Hour. . .or a Eucharistic procession. . .or Forty Hours devotion. . .or even Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in your parish?
History tells us that in times of great danger - such as when the Popes had to flee Italy and live in exile in France, or during wars, plagues and other disasters - the people would throng to the churches and kneel before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, imploring His mercy.
Today the entire world is in grave peril as never before.
Today we would be wise to offer without ceasing - through perpetual Eucharistic adoration - "the Most Precious Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world," as perfect reparation for all the sins of our day.
By doing so, we can draw down God's merciful love on all sinners and on the whole world.
